The most highly rated shoe for zumba fitness

The Ryka Studio D is a dance-inspired cross trainer. I really like the Ryka brand because they make shoes that are designed for a woman's foot. This shoe is a typical dance-fitness shoe that is light, sleek and pivots easy.

I am singling out this shoe because currently it has 528 reviews on zappos with 80% having the highest rating of FIVE STARS!

UPDATE as of May 2011 - I noticed this shoe is being discontinued but this Mid-Height version is still available:
Ryka - Studio D Mid (Black/Dark Grey/Silver) - Footwear
Ryka - Studio D Mid (Black/Dark Grey/Silver) - Footwear

My husband just bought me these shoes for Christmas and they are the best! I've been using them for Zumba for the past couple weeks and my feet are much happier and my knee and ankle pain are pretty much gone!

So glad I've found your blog.

I've just got into Zumba and invested £50 in shoes, but I needed to try them on first and walked around three towns looking, until I found a dance shop in Brighton and had to buy what they had in stock.
I'm wearing Bloch Boost DRT (538s) (which many sites call 'recommended for Zumba) and they HURT!!!

My insteps are on fire, my arches feel completely unsupported and I've just hobbled back to a chair before I could even break a sweat. I was better off barefoot.

Is it just my odd (long toed, high arched) feet, or have I just bought the worst possible shoes? If you can recommend something else, do you know of any outlets in the UK?

In hope!

@Cheryl,
The Bloch dancesneakers are not good for zumba in my opinion. You will need a shoe that is classified as a "cross-trainer." Can you find the Ryka brand shoes in your area? They are the most comfortable.

This was super helpful and timely. A few of the girls in my class and I were talking about getting new shoes for Zumba and wondering what the best brand was to go with. Glad I found this blog!

I'm new to your blog. I just found it tonight by searching for a zumba blog. I've been doing zumba for a year but it's nice to be in a community of other fans! Do you have a way to get your posts by email? I don't want to forget to come back!
